Foot troops are the Evony units you start with, and also the type of unit you will most likely have the most of. Foot troops are the cheapest units to build in Evony, and they come in 6 different types. Four of them are actual combat units, one of them are used for transporting stuff around and one of them are used to scout on your Enemies. The archer is way the most popular troop type in Evony, and that’s cause it’s the best troop there is. The archer outperforms pretty much any combination of troops the enemy can send at you. For attacking archers are pretty awesome also, and in the beginning of a server archers are pretty much the only troop you’ll ever need. Against NPCs you don’t really need any other troops either, apart from ballistae to have 0 losses on the low level NPCs. Archers are pretty quick and cheap to build as well. Read more
The scout is a very useful unit in Evony and you want to have several of these in each of your cities all the time. They are weak when it comes to attack and defense but their main purpose is to do scouting missions to figure out your enemies strength, and they also defend you against other players scouting your cities.
Scouts are also used in the popular scout bomb attack. This is a suicide attack where you send 100k scouts at a very well defended city to take out some of their archers. Due to the scouts high speed it can reach the enemy archers without getting killed by other troops, sometimes taking out as many as 30k enemy archers before dying. Read more
The warrior is the cheapest and fastest attack troop to build in Evony, and cause of the it is often called the suicide troop. They are extremely quick to train so it’s definitely a popular troop type to mass produce and use for suicide attacks. The warriors are often used to get rid of enemy fortifications in a suicide attack before you send your real army in there. Often players also kill their warriors on other players to get rid of their honor points, and you also use warriors in your rainbow attacks for layering. Read more
The worker is your most basic transport unit in Evony. You will pretty much only use them early on, as the transporter you will get later in the game is much better. They can only carry 200 resources each. The worker is pretty useless in battle and dies very easily. All in all it’s pretty much the worst troop in Evony, and don’t build any more of them than just enough to build cities. Read more
